Getting a dedicated server?

When exactly should you get a dedicated server for your website?

When you have so much cpu usage and traffic that anything else will explode.

You should get a dedicated server when you have the budget and want the powers and features.
Having a dedicated server gives you so much more control over your hosting let alone your website.

I only use dedicated servers for my site, but I am sure my sites can still handle shared hosting.
There's very powerful shared hosting today that there really aren't the need for dedicated servers unless you run a high-traffic site like MySpace or Google IMO.

My sites are high-traffic, but not that high traffic.
